Shoes and the Single Girl…….



This is how it happened.


I fell in love.

Yes, in love…heart racing, couldn’t wipe the smile off my face kind of love...

With a pair of lace 4 inch heeled peep toed size 6 D & G pumps @ Holt Renfrew’s now or never sale.

I know this may sound a tad sad to those of you in real relationships, But as a single girl shoes make me very very happy, only until Mr. Wonderful or even Mr. Maybe comes along, who am I kidding? I J’adore my shoes, it’s my thing!!

Trying to be very 2009 and frugal, I handed back the shoes that were on sale for $269, yes, I know a steal, but this is after all 2009 and slipped mes tres petits pieds into a sensible pair of Michael Kors black patent pumps with the cutest bows on the toes. And get this, on sale for $49.

With bag in hand and the cell number of the very cute salesman (I’m pretty sure it was only to appelez if I wanted the D&G shoes to be put on hold).

I left Holt’s a very happy single girl with new shoes and a few extra dollars in pocket.

Black with what?

What do I wear with this?

Is what this 50 something women said, as I handed her a pair of black pants. (Yes, I work in a btq part time; a girl needs to keep beautiful clothes in her closet)

When did women become so depended on others to dress, with every color under the rainbow, frills and ruffles to the neck, I’m guessing with the blur of all that is beautiful, & the bargain bling of ’09,it can be very confusing…

But black with what????

My addictions are finding freedom in layers of knits, prints, ruffles, cashmere and cropped skinny pants (love!).

And if that doesn’t work ladies, take two risks and go see your fave sales associate in the morning.
